While you are learning how to practice guitar, not only do you have to deal with learning all the different techniques, styles, and theory on the guitar, you also have to deal with the sound that comes out of your guitar amp. There's nothing more frustrating than having to play in your training zone, or in a group friends, playing everything perfectly, while having your amp sounding either too muddy or so bright that you can peel the paint off on your wall.

I want to share with you 3 ways to get a good tone from your amp so you can practice the best sounding guitar possible.

1. Neutralize Tone Your Controls

1. Neutralize your Tone Controls: Depending on what kind of guitar amp you have, you will want to do all your tone controls and set your controls for a neutral tone. On the assumption that your controls go 0-10, you will want to put your tone controls on five. By the tone control I mean your bass, mid, and three times. If you're playing with a digital amp you want to check your instructions as to how to create a neutral tone. This may mean that all your tone settings are set to zero and from there you can go plus or minus the digital number provided for you.

2. Organize Your Tone Controls: Today that everything is neutralized, you will begin to now what can sometimes be a time consuming process. Depending on the quality of the amp you are playing with and what kind of sound you are looking out of your guitar amp expect to spend at least 1-5 hours perfecting your guitar tone. The reason your guitar tone settings can take on so long as there is an infinite amount of ways that you can set the tone of your guitar amp. If you like the current tone of your guitar AMP then you are ready guitar playing and practice. If you are not completely happy with the current tone then move your tone knobs up or down by 1 to 2 steps at a time.
