Guitar and Bass Repair: A Free And Bass Guitar To Customize Your tone changed
One of the easiest ways to fix your guitar or bass may have a profound effect on its tone, and better yet, adjustment is free and takes very little time or ability to perform. Adjust the height of your guitar or bass' pickups according to the guidelines in this article and, with a little experimentation, you can come closer to playing the tone of your fantasies (yes, the ones where you are on stage sporting tight pants and trying to stay on your feet in the midst of a deluge of cheering and panties, or Jock straps, whatever the case may be).
Changes to truck Tone Up
Please follow this link to view The figures for this article.
Pickups adjusted closer to the strings usually produce a punchier, fuller tone with higher output. Fix the pickups too high however, and the tone can be ugly (especially when the strings are played hard). Additionally, pickups stronger magnetic field can affect to string vibrations when they are adjusted too high and can produce a "warbling" tone that is usually not desirable.
Pickups adjusted further away from the strings will produce a tone woodier with a better response to dynamic playing, make softer attack will produce cleaner tones and harder attacks will increase the output without losing sense of voice. The slight decrease in output from pickups may be lower paid for by adjusting your amplifier and effects settings. Of course, adjusting the pickups too low will result in a total loss of tone and output, regardless of amp and effect settings.
Start where the truck Adjustments
The majority of pickups with plastic mounting ring is height adjustable, you can turn the screws on both edge of the ring to raise and lower each side of the truck. Mounting ring with three height adjustment screws are usually for adjusting incline of the truck's face as as the height. Arrange the three-bolt mounting ring so the plane faces the truck is parallel to the plane of the strings. If the pickups in your bass or guitar is not height-adjustable, remove them and place some material in their cavities to "shim" them until the correct height (do not use ferrous materials or anything to interfere with the magnetic field or electrical signal of the truck). Dense foam padding works well as a shim, it will press truck spring upwards, allowing you to raise and lower the truck mounting screws alone, eliminating the need for different sizes of shims.
Finding your own perfect tone requires a little experimentation, but there is a great starting point where the possibility to start monitoring voice. Perturb the lowest and highest strings on the last fret then adjust the pickups so they are about 1 / 16 "to 3 / 32" below the strings. Might want the bridge pickup to be a little closer to the strings and the neck pickup to be a little further to accommodate the different patterns chills voice in each location. Furthermore, you can lower the bass side of the truck if you want more treble response, or lower triple side for more bass response.
Pickups with individually adjustable pole-piece may be adjusted to balance their response to different sizes of string. The larger the string, the higher output the truck and pickups respond to more simple than the strings wound strings. The heights of the pole pieces (if they are adjustable) can be usually adjusted face of the truck (when the pole-piece screws themselves) or the back of the truck, sometimes behind the back plate. Adjust the low E pole piece less than the rest, one has should be slightly higher than the E and D should be slightly higher than A. If your guitar has a wound G string pole piece then it should be adjusted slightly higher than the pole piece D, the B should be adjusted only slightly higher than the low E pole piece and the high E should be a little higher than B's pole pieces. A string's solid pole piece should be adjusted G only slightly higher than the low E pole piece, the B should be slightly higher than G and the high E somewhat higher than B. Take a look at figure 1 and figure 2 for a visual comparison of plain and wound G pole piece configurations. In general, the pole piece height adjustments should only be used as a means of balancing (or unbalancing, if you want the tone) answer the truck individual strings.
Finding your ideal tone by adjusting your pickups takes a little experimentation. Try some different these configurations, you can get a lot of different tones, particularly if you have more than one truck and they are wired with a mixture control to mix their signals. Occasionally you will find a tone you do not have even imagined before! Thanks for reading, good luck finding your new tones.

Bass Guitar possibility of electronic pickup configuration?
If I had to change a bass guitar or create one from scratch, thinking adventurously be possible to have a bass guitar 4 j-bass pickups with each truck having its own volume, tone and SPST switch power, resulting in total control of what combination of pickups is turned on, and the sound and volume of each individual truck? if it is possible, anyone have a rough idea how it is wired up? thanks
That is something of a waste, do not you think? you are not going to get that much of a difference in sound from next to a truck. Two pickups, one neck and one bridge pretty much covers your needs.
