CHAINDRIVEN video's Area 51 was selected out of hundreds of videos submitted to the "Webstock: Battle of the Fans video contest." The top two bands battled it Key Club in Hollywood June 12th while listeners got to view and vote for their favorite band during the live webcast. On June 16th KLOS announced that the fans CHAINDRIVEN 'Favorite.

Bio:
CHAINDRIVEN was formed in 2002 in Santa Clarita, CA by Vocalist, Mando Medina; guitarist, Dave Dzaich, bassist, Scott Herron, and Drummer, Bob Slattery. The band was spawned when Scott and Dave decided to start a metal band. After several false starts with various drummers, they found Bob. He just recently returned from Europe, and fate has it that they all cross paths. After months of auditioning vocalists, Mando joined to line up. He was fresh from his registration with the military, and he was offered a job right at the end of their first rehearsal together. At that point, they know combination of all four individuals is a certain raw magic. CHAINDRIVEN's first full length, self titled CD was released in January 2008, and has just started to create some buzz in the music world. The hard-hitting band's, crunchy, driving sound has hailed venues such as The Whiskey-a-Go-Go, The Knitting Factory, and The Key Club among other legendary stops along the Sunset Strip and surrounding areas. Most recently, CHAINDRIVEN added a second guitarist, Chris Neil, the line up. His personal style rounds out CHAINDRIVEN's unique jaw-clenching sound. CHAINDRIVEN is currently working on their second album, continuing to gig, and enjoying every minute of playing for their growing fan base.

History Project – Creative or lame?

I have this big project of history as worth 2 test grades and 50% final exam grade. It has to be something about the Civil War that match your interests and talents. So I choose the music of the Civil War, because I'm really into music and instruments. We have to make this presentation very creative and it will be 10 minutes long, so I want to make a video where my voice is my story and show the photos of bands the Civil War, and photos of famous musicians, and common instruments. But also, I wanted to show me popularity playing songs like the Civil War Dixie and the Battle hymn of the Republic on the flute, piano, and seven (because I play instruments and they are usually in the Civil War). I also want to get my friends to play snare drum and trumpet for my video. Is the sound cool or lame! Any tips to make my videos better? I have not yet started, so anything would be helpful! I'm in 8th grade honors history, by the way

I really like, it shows initiative, interest, talent and intellegence. I think you are scores pretty high on it. If you do not cause his teacher is not much of a fan of music from back then.

Drum Extravaganza with Elvin, Max, Art, and Buddy concert at Radio City Music Hall on 07 Jul 74 $3.98 As part of a big Radio City Music Hall show on July 7, during the 1974 Newport Jazz Festival, impresario George Wein assembled four of the greatest drummers in jazz for a drum extravaganza. And as he prefaced before the proceedings began, “This is not a war or a battle; it’s four great artists playing together.” Essentially borrowing an idea pioneered by the Gretsch drum company for its regular “Gretsch Nights” at Birdland back in 1960, this historic encounter features four legendary drummers – each an individual stylist and respected bandleader in his own right – exploring to the fullest extent the rhythmic and melodic possibilities of their respective kits. The pure polyrhythmic nature of the first soloist, who holds to a swinging ride cymbal pulse while deftly traversing his tom toms and snare with explosive aplomb, indicates Art Blakey. Next up is Elvin Jones, whose looser approach to the beat, along with some of his African-influenced polyrhythms on the kit, is instantly revealing. Following a distinct break of applause, we hear remarkably rapid hands on the kit with impeccably clean technique and a few bebop references thrown in, along with some incredibly slick rolls on the snare, all of which suggest Buddy Rich. The well-executed nature of Rich’s solo, in which he sounds like he’s emulating a well-choreographed routine by a virtuosic tap dancer like Fred Astaire, is a dead give-away, as is his ability to play nonchalantly through in double-time phrases. And he builds to a show-stopping crescendo in classic Buddy Rich big band fashion. Next up is the very skillful drummer-conceptualist-bandleader Max Roach, who begins in a more understated manner, making references to his famous “The Drum Also Waltzes” solo from his landmark 1966 release, Drums Unlimited. The opening bass drum ostinato figure and slick hi-hat work, along with the African influenced melodic tendencies on the kit (which he explored in greater depth with the seven-piece percussion ensemble he
