Paper Jamz Guitar The Best Musical Toy

It’s the guilty pleasure of most people today to imagine becoming a rock legend – we all wish to be high on some sort of stage being musical plus famous, the audience cheering us all on. Well, whether a fantasy or an achievable desire, now it is incredibly easy to be able to stimulate your young ones to try out at becoming a rock star when using the Paper Jamz Guitar, by WowWee Toys.

WowWee Toys are very well recognized for their modern generally robotic designs. Currently this intriguing toy, although merely constructed from one-inch thick cardstock, actually can provide great songs by just pretending to play and also jam along with this music. It is operated by Active Graphic technological innovation, this means the actual toy does not have strings to make it play music. Audio is played out via the inlayed touch receptors, so that your kids would only need to strum the actual front of the apparatus. Technology is going to recognize the hand movements, and therefore should act in response.  Your youngster is sure to be amazed by your Paper Jamz guitar

There are actually 3 enjoyable play modes. First is a strum setting wherein budding musicians could just continue strumming their fingers and a pre-recorded record may play without attention.  Secondly is the rhythm mode. This really is tougher mainly because little ones have to have the right timing to get the melody performed accurately.  Lastly, you’ll find it provides the freestyle option, whereby the kids will make their very own tunes and so nearly experience the real thing.

Finally, it could even be personalized to fit your child’s preferences, because the Paper Jamz guitarwill come in six various guitars to pick from. This variation of guitars can offer personalization for the youngsters. It comes in different colorations and designs, each having different song variations along with three popular pre recorded songs.

Important Techniques for Mastering Lead Guitar – Hammer Ons, Pull Offs & Tapping

Some of the greatest guitar compositions have made it to the hall of fame thanks to their lead guitarists. Lead guitar refers to a the use of a guitar to perform melody lines, instrumental fill passages, and guitar solos within a song structure. Guitarists like Van Halen, Steve Vai, David Gilmour, John Petrucci, Dave Mustaine, Tom Morello, Kirk Hammett, Jimmy Page, Dave Murray, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse and many more have popularized the art of playing the Lead guitar.

Mastering the lead guitar takes time and effort. To master it you will need to use different and advanced scales, arpeggios, modes, riffs and licks. If you are thinking of becoming a lead guitarist then you will have to master various techniques of playing solo starting with hammer ons, pull offs and tapping.

Hammer Ons

Hammer-ons are normally played with pull-offs and are also known as slurs. A hammer if used on a lead guitar can create a smooth sound between different notes and is considered to be a great way of rendering a solo performance. It can be seen as playing multiple notes in one strike. Something like playing multiple notes on a saxophone in one breath. It is the slur effect that makes the hammer a must for playing lead guitar. Just as the name sounds, a hammer-on means striking an open string. Hammer on is extremely useful for strumming patterns in which you would be required to hold on to a particular chord for a few seconds.

Pull-Off

For lead guitar playing, to accentuate the rhythm, you use a hammer on first and then play it backward, which is a pull off. To play this better, you should ideally start with two fingers on your fretboard. Let’s take an example: if the index finger is at the 5th fret on your guitar’s D string and if your ring finger is on the 7th fret then try picking the note at the 7th fret. At the point when the note rings, pull-off the ring finger, which will leave your index finger on the 5th fret. The sound that you get will be similar to a slurring effect and is a pull off.

Tapping

Tapping is a popular lead guitar technique that has been used by many great guitarists. Associated mainly with an electric guitar, you can use the tapping technique on almost all kinds of string instruments. There are two types of tapping technique: The one-handed tapping also known as ordinary tapping, and the two-handed tapping. Some of the lead guitar experts consider it to be an extended technique. The technique will require you to tap the strings of your lead guitar using the use the fingers of one hand and this will sound like legato notes. But remember successful tapping requires the use of both the hands. Van Halen used the tap-pull-hammer method in his highly successful number called “Eruption” to create a long cascade consisting of several tapped notes.

Do you still record drum tracks first if you have a base guitar riff?

I know it’s usually common to record the drum tracks first, then move on to the main riff. There is one problem I have though. What if I came up with a good guitar riff FIRST? Does I just hope the drum beat he comes up with matches it or what?

Answer that, and then please tell me if you think this a good idea, our drummer (in a lot of songs) listens to only the rhythm guitar of the demo, and plays a beat along with it (for a guide). We then use that drum beat to re-record the rhythm guitar and additional parts in the ACTUAL song, not just the demo.
And yes, on the title I DID mean base guitar riff. Not BASS guitar. I mean the underlying guitar part when I say base, not a bass.

The answer is that you always record to something that keeps time, whether its a drum track, click track, metronome, whatever. Guitarists are notorious for having a piss-poor sense of rhythm, and you have to make sure you match up with the drums, otherwise you will sound amateur at best.

And yes, that second idea isn’t a bad one, its actually very reasonable. I still think that creating a scratch track where the rhythm guitarist is playing to a metronome or click track is still the best way to approach it, though, since that way he’s forced to stay in time, and that helps the drummer, since the drummer won’t have to adjust for when the guitarist goes out of time. Notice I said when, not if. Its that rare for a guitarist to have that good of timing without at least a click track.

10 Days Out (Blues from the Backroads)

10 Days Out (Blues from the Backroads)

$24.98

10 Days Out may well be Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s most important and intriguing album, even though the guitarist is hardly the featured artist on any of these tracks, working instead more as a sideman and facilitator for the impressive cast of venerable blues players who get a chance to shine here. Make no mistake about it, this recording belongs to such senior citizens as Henry Townsend, Etta Baker, Pinetop Perkins, and Henry Gray, and Shepherd’s presence (and the presence of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble rhythm section of bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer Chris Layton) simply helps to focus the attention on these veteran blues players. Shepherd embarked on a ten-day journey into the American South in 2004 with a documentary film crew, a portable recording studio, and Double Trouble as a house band in an effort to catch the blues in its natural habitat of living rooms, kitchens, porches, back yards, and local watering holes, and the performances that resulted are priceless. Here is one-armed harp player Neal Pattman and blind guitarist Cootie Stark turning in a joyous, ramshackle version of “Prison Blues.” A little later, Stark delivers further on a delightful song called “U-Haul,” complete with a marvelous improvised rap over the tune’s run-out coda. Here, too, is the then-96-year-old Henry Townsend turning in a poignant “Tears Came Rollin’ Down.” Etta Baker, then 93, shows that age hadn’t slowed her as a guitarist at all as she delivers an elegant “Knoxville Rag.” Shepherd wisely stays in the background on cut after cut, allowing these amazing musical treasures to unfold naturally and without intrusive elements. There are absolutely no hotshot guitar histrionics anywhere on this disc, which speaks to Shepherd’s sincere vision for this project. He’s after the preservation of blues history with 10 Days Out, and as if to underscore that aim, five of the album’s participants (Neal Pattman, Cootie Stark, Gatemouth Brown, George “Wild Child” Butler, and…

 1995

1995

$16.98

This is a 2002 reissue of the original CD by guitar hero David “Fuze” Fiuczynski’s Screaming Headless Torsos quintet. Along with two previously unissued tracks (Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” and George Harrison’s “Something), this outing provides an early glimpse of one of the most powerful jazz-rock units to emerge in quite some time. On the other hand, perhaps the brand of music heard here could be akin to shock therapy treatment. Vocalist Dean Bowman adds a lot of character to this quintet as he raps, croons, and scats atop an assortment of high-octane pieces, consisting of funk motifs, jazzy progressions, and tricky time signatures. Dynamics abound, partly due to the rhythm section’s razor-sharp precision and seemingly impossible technical gymnastics. Fiuczynski leads the charge via his often slithery attack, marked by screeching crescendos, blazing single-note leads, and swiftly executed chord voicings. However, the group lowers the generally excitable proceedings down a notch or two during their soul-blues rendition of “Little Wing.” The band’s slightly in-your-face demeanor provides the knockout punch, yet it’s not all about aimless or frenzied chops fests. On this release, the musicians rise to the occasion amid 14 solid tracks that cover quite a bit of terrain. Recommended. ~ Glenn Astarita, Rovi

 40th Anniversary Collection

40th Anniversary Collection

This reviewer is usually loathe to give compilation albums the highest rating, as they have an unfair advantage over original albums; and it’s not as though there aren’t already good multi-CD sets on the Searchers, including their 30th Anniversary Collection from Sequel Records. But this two-disc, 56-song collection goes into territory where the early triple-disc set never ventured as the first Searchers compilation to encompass not only their most familiar work on Pye Records, but also Phonogram, RCA, Sire, PRT, and Coconut Records. It also avails itself of the vast expansion of the band’s tape library in recent decades, including demos and live tracks, all in state-of-the-art sound. The result is not only the first truly comprehensive overview of this group, which never had a bad or a dull period, but also their best-sounding account in terms of the sharpness of the remastering. What may surprise even longtime fans is how well their 1963 vintage demos and live tracks come off as performances. Based on the evidence here, these guys were ready to record that far back and had some edges that were a lot rougher and sometimes sharper than the polished, rhythm guitar focused sound that they later cultivated in the studio. In a sense, listening to this collection from front to back is a lot like going through the Beatles’ history, except that the Searchers never took a left turn into psychedelia or, with the exceptions of Tony Jackson and Chris Curtis, developed egos that threatened the integrity of the group. The 2003 remastering has also given their stuff a startling immediacy of impact that outstrips their best prior CDs. You can actually hear the action on the guitars and the drums on this collection, especially on “Sweets for My Sweet” and “Ain’t Gonna Kiss Ya,” the two earliest official releases. The rhythm guitars on “Needles and Pins” and “When You Walk in the Room” chime loud and melodiously in the best mastering job they’ve ever received, and, for th…
