The 1940s brought a decline in Eleanor's career. For a long recovery after the surgery, his film started hehe melt. She married actor Glenn Ford in 1943, making repeated hehe film and television. The 1960s saw Eleanor launch a successful career as a live performer the nightclub venues. He maintained popularity through the 60s.

Eleanor Powell's legacy lived on in That's Entertainment series of documentaries dancing career highlight. He passed away in 1982 from cancer at age 69.
