I own a 12 button accordion and piano I want to know how to play a chord E because there are only 6 buttons per row. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but the rows in B flat, F, C, G, D, A base notes, and the buttom row are the basic chords. Also, how you play something like F sharp or minor chords?

The bass layout you mentioned is correct. You can only play the known and major chords on the type of accordion you have. Most people just leave the missing note in the left hand or just playing a bass note relative to another (when playing in E minor a G bass note fits into the key).
