Beginner Piano Music: What You Will Learn

You can get beginner piano music in two ways. You can get them at music stores or online. Bookstores may sell beginner piano music, but you only get a few selections. Music stores have more selections for all ages and expertise of playing. Adult beginner books have much faster lessons compared to that of children. It’s easy to find the book you need in music stores. Your piano teacher will give you a list of the books you need. For those who are doing self study, you might find the salespeople knowledgeable ont what book to get since they also have some music training.

There are basically, two types of beginner piano books. The first one is for the really clueless. This would teach you everything you need to know in order to play the piano. The second type contains exclusively piano pieces. In order for you to be able to play, you must know about the basic theories.

When you are looking for beginner piano music online, you would have a difficult time if you do not know what you are looking for. The selections are endless and you would go from page to page that contain too many pieces. Make a list of recommended references before going online to look for beginner piano lessons.

What is more, beginner piano music lessons can be made online or on-site. On-site lessons are conducted by piano tutors or at music schools. You can get a one-on-one training or you can study with classmates. Having to commute to and from your sessions, as well as having to adjust your day to your piano schedule is a definite disadvantage with this kind of lessons.

In addition, online lessons give you the advantage of free schedule and save you money as well as time for transportation. Although you are learning at home, you can still talk with other students to chat and forums.

Likewise, you will learn how to operate the piano. The fingers’ positions on the keyboard and reading simple music are the very first things you will be taught. You will see notes with numbers that indicate what finger to use in order to play this note. As you advance in level, the numbers decrease until you don’t have them anymore.

Then famous melodies arranged especially for neophytes will be taught to you. The next sessions will have you learning the chords and their placement. This will continue for a time and you will later be introduced to music interval which are scales, keys and intervals.

After learning these, you will be taught more such as improvisation and other techniques. You will be assigned a piece to apply your knowledge as well as memorize. During this time, you should have finished the first phase of your beginner piano music studies you should no longer be considered as a beginner.

It Is Important To Use Piano Exercises To Strengthen Your Fingers

When you first start playing the piano it is important to understand that you not only need to practice often but that you need to perform piano exercises to be able to strengthen your fingers. These also will help you become more familiar with the keyboard and how it is set up. You need to start off learning the bare basics and that starts with the scales of a keyboard. The first thing you will notice is the keyboard is comprised of 88 keys with a pattern that repeats. That pattern is a grouping of two black keys that are followed by another grouping of three black keys all along the length of the keyboard. Finding the middle of the keyboard is important and that would be the middle white key which represents the key of C.

Once you have found that middle key, your warm ups and exercises can begin. The easiest and most common scale to learn is based on the first 7 letters of the alphabet of the English language. So, you would start with the middle C and moving to the right is the D key, the next one is the E. When you get here you will see you are at a group of 3 black keys and the white key there is the F. Next would be the G. After G follows the end of the scale with the A, B and C keys. The scale begins with the middle C and will end on a C that is higher.

You should make sure that your hands and fingers are warmed up before you start doing the scale. You can do this by first taking your right hand and putting it into a tight ball and then releasing it. You should do this several times and then switch to the left hand and do the same thing. Now make your right hand into an open ended curve and place it on the keyboard beginning at the middle C position. You will place your thumb on that C key. Then your index finger will be the D with the rest of your fingers over the rest of the keys.

Your fingers should be located on all the keys from C to G. When ready, you can play all of the notes starting from left to right. Once you get to the E, you should tuck your thumb so it goes under the palm of your hand and reaches the F note and then finish the scale with your four fingers. In other words your thumb would be C, index is D, middle finger is E, then the thumb under your palm to the F, index is then G, middle finger then becomes A, ring finger is the B and your pinky will play the C.

Now you will need to go to the left hand. Even though the left hand will play the same keys the finger placement is going to be different. You will begin with middle C but this time it will be the little finger. The next four fingers will be used for the D, E, F and G keys. You will then go up and down this scale until you feel comfortable.

So the fingers for the left hand should be little finger C, your ring finger is D, the middle finger is E, index finger would be F and the thumb would be the G. The middle finger will then cross over the top of your hand so it can hit the A with the ring finger hitting the B and the thumb then will hit the high C.

You should practice the entire scale often in order to not only strengthen your fingers but to also help develop speed and accuracy when using the keyboard. You should continue to practice the entire C scale with the goal of making your fingers stronger and becoming comfortable with the keyboard.

For people who have never tried to make music on a keyboard or a piano, or do not even have the ability to read music, the idea of playing a popular song can appear impossible. However, by learning from the very beginning and building on each skill you learn by training on a regular base, all have the ability to become an accomplished keyboard player. All you have to do is be patient and do not worry if you're not sounding like a professional that after only a few lessons.

To start with, you need to identify the notes in each key on a keyboard stands.

The first note should keyboard to distinguish among C. After you know that key represents middle C, all other records will fall into place pretty easily. Middle C is in a different location depending on how many keys on your keyboard.

If your keyboard is either 61 or 76 keys, middle C is the white key right before the 3rd black 2-key-set from the left. If your keyboard has 88 keys, middle C is the white key just before the 4th black 2-key-set from the left.

Electronic keyboard, all keys was organized by octaves, octaves and all start with C. If your keyboard has 61 keys, it also has five octaves with 12 keys each. In any given octave, the black keys come in sets of either two or three, and all other keys are white. This entry is contained in an octave are:

C, C #, D, D #, E, F, F #, G, G #, A, A #, B

The # indicates a note that is sharp, and is played by a black keys. If no # next note, then it can be played by a white key.

If you knew the notes, you can try a scale. AC scale is fairly Simply because you play it using only the white notes. Start at middle C and modulate the following 8 white keys, and then reverse and return back to the middle C with the same white keys. So it translates to C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and on the way back: B, A, G, F, E, D, C.

To start, we will learn to play the first five key. Using your right hand, place your thumb on middle C and hang around the rest of your fingers over the next four white keys, which is D, E, F, and G. Then modulate each key, one after the other, beginning with your thumb on middle C. Then press the five key, return the middle C in the reverse order.

Very good. However, you may wonder how you're going to play the other notes in the scale with no other fingers available. Some your fingers have to play more than one note. A proper way of doing this that you can grasp pretty easily. Learning the techniques that now will save time later to learn to actually play songs. Here's the correct way:

Put your hands in the same position as indicated above. When you sound the first 3 tones (C, D, and E), take it and cross your thumb under your fingers and put it on the following key white (F). Then, cross your fingers with your thumb and your fingers should then have to hover above the following four white keys. Sound F with your thumb, then the following four keys (G, A, B, and C). Then you get to C, back down the scale (B, A, G, F). Take your middle fingers and cross it with your hand to get to E. Sound the last two buttons, D with your index finger, and C with your thumb. Practice this technique until you are able to complete it flawlessly.

Of course, it is only a beginning, learning to play the electronic keyboard will require more ways and techniques illustrated than here, but the ability to read music is an important skill You should think about the next study. A number of great instructors are available if you want one to show you how to do it, and to keep you on track. Or, if you know yourself better, you can access a multitude of Internet-based lessons that can allow you to go the speed that fits for you.
