If you're moving a piano outside and transporting it on a vehicle, cover it in plastic to shield it in the course of the move.

For a retail fix, venture half an hour further afield to the Cider Press Centre, Dartington. It’s packed full of local arts and crafts and home-made goodies and, because all profits go to a local charity, you can indulge in a spot of guilt-free splurging. The Friday flea market at Totnes is the place for vintage finds.
