The Pink panther is a series of comedy films featuring the bumbling French police detective Jacques Clouseau started in 1963 with the release of the film of the same name. The paper that role was originated by, and is most closely associated with, Peter Sellers. Most of the film is directed and co-written by Blake Edwards, with notable theme music composed by Henry Mancini.
Despite its use of the titles of almost every film of the series, the "Pink panther" is not the Clouseau character, but a large and valuable fictitious diamond of the same name which is the "MacGuffin" of the first film in the series. [1] The phrase reappears in the title of the fourth film, The Return of the Pink panther, the theft of the diamond is again the center of the plot, the movie also marked the return of Sellers in this paper after a gap of ten years, which may have contributed to some confusion between the character and the diamond. The phrase is used for all subsequent films in the series, even when the jewel does not figure in the plot (the diamond has appeared only in six of the 11 films in the series).
The first film in the series is an animated opening sequence, created by DePatie-Freleng business and set the theme music by Henry Mancini, which featured the character Pink panther. The characters, designed by Hawley Pratt, then the subject of his own series of animated cartoons – as well as being featured in the opening of each Pink panther film series but a movie shot in the Dark and Inspector Clouseau.
Films and themes
Even the two most recent Pink panther movie star Steve Martin, most of the film series starred Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau and was directed and co-written by Blake Edwards. The popular jazz-based theme music was composed by Henry Mancini. Also in the credits sequences, the theme accompanies any suspenseful sequence involving "the Phantom" work in a theft, both initially and in subsequent films.

'S other Mancini theme for the first movie with an Italian-language set-piece called "Meglio Stasera" whose purpose seems primarily to introduce young actress Fran Jeffries. Part of an instrumental version will also appear in musical score The film's several times. Other segments include "Shades of Sennett", a "honky tonk" piano number introducing the film's climactic chase scenes through the streets of Rome. Most of the remaining tracks on the album soundtrack is early 1960s orchestral jazz pieces, matching the style of the time. The Pink panther of the title is a diamond supposedly containing a flaw which means the image of a "leaping panther", which is seen if held up to light a certain way. This is explained in the beginning of the first film, and the camera zooms in on the diamond to reveal the blurry flaw, which focused on panther (although not actually leaping) to start the opening credits sequence (it has done well to Return). The plot of the first film centers around the theft of this diamond, which is mentioned in only five other films in the series (The Return of the Pink panther, Trail of the Pink panther, Curse of the Pink panther, and the 2006 remake of The Pink panther and sequel to the remake of The Pink panther 2). The name "The Pink panther" became attached to Inspector Clouseau, in much the same way that "Frankenstein" is used in film titles to refer to Dr Frankenstein's creation or the thin Man is used in a series of film detection.
A Shot in the Dark, a film which was not originally intended to feature Inspector Clouseau, is the only film in the series (except Inspector Closeau) feature of the diamond nor the distinctive animated Pink panther in the opening and ending credits. Many critics, including Leonard Maltin, regard this film as best in the series.
The original movie Pink panther, the main focus is on David Niven's role as Sir Charles Lytton, the infamous jewel thief nicknamed "The Phantom", and his plan to steal the Pink panther from its owner. The animated Pink panther really symbolizes Lytton. Inspector Clouseau character performing only a supporting role as Lytton incompetent opponent, and gave slapstick comic relief in a film that would otherwise be an expert, lighthearted crime drama, a somewhat jarring contrast of styles which is not atypical of Edwards' films. The popularity of Clouseau caused him to become the main character in the next movie Pink panther, which is more straightforward slapstick comedies.
'S Mancini theme, with the difference in arrangement, is used at the beginning of all but a few movies Clouseau.

Forever [Bonus Tracks] $18.98 Bookended by two tracks that essentially are the same piece — “Everywhere,” a quicker, almost dancy number that still sounds uniquely Cranes, and the slower, stripped-down “Rainbows” — Forever finds Cranes moving from strength to strength. Having reached a new level of variety and elegant restraint combined with brusque power on Wings of Joy, the foursome continued exploring such combinations on Forever without simply rehashing the previous album. If anything, the album went to extremes in both directions — the quieter moments were even more hushed and shadowed, the louder points all that much more whip-snap cruel. “Cloudless” remains the album’s most sweetly beautiful, truly haunting moment. Over what sounds like a synthesized combination of plucked violin and keyboards, doubtless played by Jim Shaw, sister Alison delivers a softly husky vocal that slowly grows in strength. More synth strings swell up in the background, just enough, followed later by gentle electric guitar and at the end distant drums. On a completely different tip, there’s “Clear,” its searing, blunt lead guitar line matched by a massive rhythm slam, only occasionally interrupted by a quieter moment or two before launching back into the full band attack. “Jewel” ended up being a surprise U.K. and U.S. hit, though thanks to a somewhat transformed remix courtesy of longtime fan Robert Smith (in fact, Forever takes its name from a Cure rarity of the same title). On the album, Jim Shaw’s original rougher drums stand out, but the attractive poppy groove of the song remains the same, Alison Shaw’s singing at her clearest yet over the simple but effective acoustic guitar rhythms and abrasive electric solo.
