Arpeggios and scales– piano?

My exam is in a month and I’m honestly more worried about scales and arpeggios than the actual pieces.

Can someone give me tips on practising scales, remembering the key signature, fingering and speed? Speed is a problem for me. I’ve been practising these scales for over a year and I still can’t get it right. After about 10 minutes of practise I can’t even get the notes right so I have to stop.

And for arpeggios, whenever I have to pass the thumb under to play the next octave, I end up turning my wrist enough or I can’t reach the note and play smoothly, and this hurts my arm. How can I avoid this and play arpeggios accurately without pain?

I did ask my teacher.
She said that arms should by moving up and down the keyboard rather than just my forearms and hands…
but I usually get this problem when playing arpeggios fast…

For both, you need to incorporate your wrists and arms to do the work. Finger movement itself is not enough at all.

Arpeggios:
Once you play the right thumb note, right elbow starts pushing outwards little by little. When you use the thumb again for the second octave, your forearm is almost parallel to the keyboard. This prevents injury to the wrist.

Scales:
Use wrists a lot. PRetty much similar to playing the arpeggios but only in smaller elbow motion. Once you play the first note with the thumb, elbow leads the wrist pushing outwards slightly and gradually along with index and third fingers (or fourth) later. When your right thumb is under ABOUT to play after the third or the fourth finger, the wrist is about 45 degree angle. Once you finish playing the thumb note, wrist goes back perpendicular to the keyboard. Therefore, your wrists would have a similar movement as you turn a knob back and forth while play a scale.

You would never hurt yourself with the helps of wrists and elbow. This is actually the proper way to play the piano. You would feel awkward at first, but once you get used to it, your scales and arpeggios would be effortless
