Ways To Watch Hung Episode
HUNG is a brand new TV series from HBO starring Thomas Jane, Jane Adams, Anne Heche, Charlie Saxton, and Sianoa Smith-McPhee. HUNG kicks off its ten-episode first season on SUNDAY, JUNE 28 (10:00-10:45 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, followed by half-hour episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. Created by Dmitry Lipkin (creator of “The Riches”) and Colette Burson, the timely show uses dark humor to tell the story of a man fighting to survive personal setbacks that have been compounded by a troubled economy.
I had hopes that this show would be funny, entertaining, and different (at least for a while). I’m sadly disappointed by the direction it has taken. Maybe it will get better. I guess I’ll wait and see (but only for a few more episodes).
“Because it’s just so big and beautiful, it will blow your mind,” Jane Adams cracked. “That’s why.”
Ray begins a secret relationship with Jemma, leaving an increasingly frustrated Tanya out of the loop. Tanya attempts to keep her pimp hand strong by confronting Jemma at work, but winds up losing her cool and her best client. Jessica and her Dr. Ruth-resembling mom snoop through Ronnie’s files and discover he’s lost close to a million dollars in the stock market. And everyone shows up to Ray’s high school basketball game, but it’s Jemma who catches his eye and inspires him to lead his team to a come-from-behind victory.
This was a weird episode. Both Ray and Tanya seem to lose the plot this week, and all the strides that they made over the last two episodes, renewing their determination to become successful “happiness consultants,” have come to naught. Tanya’s social awkwardness seems to be getting worse, not better, while Ray, inexplicably, has decided to put his job, his family and his new business partnership on the line by inviting Jemma into his real life behind Tanya’s back.
Ray booking dates with a client on the sly is the kind of thing you’d expect him to do further down the road – not at this early point, when he’s still learning the ropes and trying to establish a clientele. Telling Jemma where he works and inviting her to one of his games is a flat out dumb move, and makes no sense considering how much Ray has to lose right now – it’s like inviting your weed dealer to your kid’s piano recital because he shares your appreciation for classical music.

Mitsuko Uchida – The reluctant dame and her cup of joy
In a quiet enclave behind Portobello Road, one of the UK’s most unusual dames is practising the piano. Mitsuko Uchida was awarded a DBE last year, but she doesn’t shout about it. Instead, she reacts with wry humour and warmth when I point out she’s the first concert pianist to receive the honour since the much-loved Moura Lympany (who died in 2005).
