I need Help When Sampling Metal Drum Loops?

For a while, I got a sampling drum loop that comes with FL studio. After a while, I realized that kick drum, although it sounded good, did not sound legit. I tried other free sampling drum loops that I got offline. They sounded real, but none of It sounded very good. I'm aiming for it to sound very good and professional, kinda like August Burns Red, Bring Me The Horizon, and / or All that will remain so, is there a things they do that makes them sound good? Interesting music! I'm listening to it as I give an answer here, and I'll put it on replay at least three times now. I hear what you say about the kick, but I have general observations about your mixes to help with a bit of a "professional" sheen. Keep in mind that professional mixes are processed with lots of attention to detail – what I cover just below the basics! A lot of time was spent making sure each instrument has its own "sonic space". Part this level, part of it is panning, part of it is compression, and part of it was properly EQ … I'll address the last two majority. When I talk about boosting, I usually mean 1-3 db. If you have to boost over 5 db or so, then you're not doing something right – find another place to mix with cut frequency instead. When I talk about cutting, I usually mean 3-6 db. Better to cut than boost. Your kick is too boxy and not "Hard" enough. Start by compressing it heavily, say 8:01 or higher, and cut between 400-800 hz. The lower end of the range that is usually important to cut if your kick is too boxy sounding. To bring the "snap" means the club, boost around 3 kHz. For a kick style speed metal, is not going to want a lot of low end unless its got uber light. High-pass higher than normal, say up to 80 hz though. Lowpass around 6 kHz. Your guitars are far too noisy. Reduce get – it will aid clarity. To further enhance the clarity, boost the lead guitar around 3.5 kHz. High-pass your guitars at least 150 hz, if not much higher. I had to guitars to 500 hz highpass before – sometimes too much is just that – too much. For any instrument that is not a drum or a bass guitar, etc., high pass at least 100-150 hz, if not higher. It clears up Your lower end so that it hits harder. Low-pass all the tracks between 10-12 kHz, if not less. This will help mostly noise, so its a clarity matters. Me, I do not like how the techno stuff so upfront in the mix. I personally would lower its volume by a good 6-9 db (For starters!) And moderately at 300-600 hz cut areas and generally lower as 1-3 kHz. This all puts a little further back in the mix. The thing moogy this title is simply a ridiculously strong at around 1:30. Cut it back! Anyways, I make sure everything is mix lightly compressed right off the bat. I do not want to squeeze the whole mix, I like everything to play well together from the beginning so I do not have to try to adjust the mix from a global perspective. Hmmm. I sure I had something else, but I do not remember. Bass guitar? Give it the lowest frequency range, ie high pass it around 50 hz or so (remember, always high-pass, even for bass instruments!). Around 600-800 hz boost if you want to take it a little further forward in the mix, but It can really benefit from a bit of boom between 1.5 kHz and 3 kHz help to "attack" means pick noise and buffet. I make sure something to do is make my adjustments while listening to the whole mix – it's no good mix with a solo instrument, as you will not know how it interacts with other instruments to bring them on! Finally, be sure to check your mixes on multiple systems, ie, an mp3 player / headphones, your computer, your car, and others who want to mix your sound good everywhere, and often means cutting a little more than you want, just make sure it sounds good everywhere.
