5 Reasons You Should Learn How to Play the Violin
To some, the violin is considered one of the most beautiful musical instruments that exist. The violin has been around for centuries and is a favorite with a lot of people for a long time. The violin is also very beautiful in both form as well as how it sounds. Violin can remind you of love, happiness, sadness, and even anger. violin can bring real emotion within you that you have not experienced for a long time, or take you back to a time long ago.
So, instead of having to rely on listening to others play the violin, or if you do not know anyone who knows how to play the violin, why not learn how to play the violin yourself? That's why I decided to write this article. So here we go, here is a list of 5 reasons why you should learn how to play the violin.
First, buying a violin is not as expensive as you might think! Some people assume that you have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a violin. That is not true. With good violins that you can buy for under $ 100. The Violin Cecilio CVN-200 I recommend goes for $ 100 on Amazon. So you do not have to have a lot of money to buy a violin.
Secondly, it is not as difficult as you might think to learn how to play a violin! You do not need to take any classes. There are some great programs online you can buy and learn how to play the violin right from your own computer. Hopefully you do not live in an apartment though. 
Third, learning how to play the violin (or any Musical Instrument) is a great hobby. You are using your mind, you're listening to music, you are learning a new skill, all at the same time. In addition, if you're going through a difficult time in life, the violin is a great way to get your mind off things.
Fourth, by learning how to play the violin, you can make a lot of people happy. If you know how to play the violin, you can play it for a spouse or partner. Now is not to be a great valentines day present if you wrote a song for them? How about if you went on the road and played the violin to make a little extra money? There are a lot of ways to play the violin can come in handy.
Finally, when you think about it, the violin is considered to be quite a historic musical instrument. The man was playing the violin since of the 16th century. The violin as the instrument that usually represents the ideal small town community from centuries ago. You may argue that owning a violin is kind of like of owning a piece of history.
Well, hopefully these reasons have convinced you to consider purchasing and learning how to play the violin. No one can argue with the fact that it is a good instrument, and at $ 100 or less for a violin, it's pretty cheap.

Animal Lover $20.98 The reigning kings of the concept album are back with Animal Lover, another very dense though not completely impenetrable offering from the Residents. They seem to be continuing with the themes of mortality that surfaced in Demons Dance Alone, but this time viewed through the observations and relationships between humans and animals. Each song is accompanied by a written text (in addition to the lyrics), that sketches the scene and characters of the song. There seems to be an overall structure to the work as a whole because groups of songs are separated from each other by brief instrumentals. There’s a general malaise permeating Animal Lover, but each of the “sets” of songs presents its own moods and emotions (one set is more menacing and confrontational, one set very sad and sympathetic, etc.). As has been the case for decades now, the Residents have a knack for exposing the dark underbelly of the human condition, but this time it’s tempered with some surprisingly empathetic moments. “Inner Space” deals with a woman watching her father die in a hospital (the story explained through the eyes of a mouse, but sung by the daughter) and “The Cat” seems to be about a mother and son and their changed relationship both to each other and the family cat following the son’s absence, perhaps due to a war. There’s alot more going on in these songs and the way they’re arranged, but it will take multiple listens to begin to decode it. Musically, they’ve added some very organic sounds to their creepy synth stylings, adding lots of acoustic bass, harmonica and violin to the processed sounds of electric guitar and keyboards. There’s also a fairly extensive use of chimes, gongs, and gamelan. The “singing Resident” has a diminished role as they utilize a broader palette of voices, including a couple excellent performances by Molley Harvey. USED: BELOW THE WAVES $4.99 After the generally good vibes of Firefly, the starker performances on Below the Waves must have come as a surprise to many of Heidi Berry’s fans. Without changing her excellent singing in the slightest, Berry and her arranger, Christian Lunch, replaced the light folk-rock of Firefly with a more ambient and, often times, quite haunting backing. Brother Christopher Berry’s fine acoustic guitar work stays at the center — but stripped of the band, both it and her vocals stand out with a gorgeous clarity, accentuated by a soft layer of reverb applied throughout the disc. Her lyrics are much clearer as well; her calm detailing of “blood on your hands” in “Little Tragedy” could easily have been lost in the mix had the song been performed on Firefly. Not everything is sonically downbeat — sprightly guitar helps add a slight musical jauntiness to “Riversong” — but generally, though, Below emphasizes ruminative lyrics and calm music. The title track is especially fascinating, with a low rumble of sound beginning and ending the song on a slightly disturbing note. Violin and cello appear on a number of songs, deepening the melancholy and sorrowful undertow of many of them. By no means, however, is the record a specifically sad one. If anything, Berry seeks to bring out a careful reflection through her music, as on the lengthy, powerful “Northshore Train,” with such slice-of-life observations as “the electric towers stand in line on water’s edge.” A number of tracks favor keyboards or pianos instead of guitar, often to grand effect: The slow combination of organ swells and bass notes on “Gather All the Hours” creates a lovely bed for Berry’s singing.
