solo violin romantic music

There are many ways to create songs, and by "Songs" I mean the words and music. I love songs and I love making songs, and I have been doing so for over 30 years. I remember when my first serious song won the student vote in my High School "The School Song Contest. I used the words of a friend wrote and came up with a catchy melody, fun lyrics and up-tempo beat. Another friend said it sounded like something from "Sesame Street ". I was not pleased with the assessment as I thought it was quite original and I certainly want it to be cool. In the end the teacher in charge decided not to use as the School Anthem because it was too poppy. So I experienced the politics of singing and writing is not amused.

Since that first attempt I have tried many ways to create songs and here is a summary of some of the ways you can try that too.

(1) Start with words. Write your own the words or use someone else's – maybe a friend. You can even use an existing poem or short story. David Bowie seems once removed words and phrases from a newspaper and organized them into a song. You can try the stream-of-consciousness writing – get a blank piece of paper and write down any your head and do not stop until you fill the page. You will usually find some interesting phrases or ideas that you can use to make up a song or poem in simultaneously.

(2) Start with the chords. I prefer the way I love great lyrics. You can borrow existing chords from a song or do you prefer up yourself. Try cutting out 12 boxes of paper with 12 notes of music to them. Put them in a bag and draw 3 or more of them. They will be Your chords. You can open some of the Major and Minor or some other variation.

(3) Start with Melody. You can use an existing tone but If you want to have a very original approach to test the bag (2) but this time the notes are the melody and the chord. Alternatively you can sing just as randomly as possible and see what comes out. Stop and repeat any phrases that sound good to you. If you play an instrument, try the same thing – Randomly play your piano or violin, and stop for good develops.

(4) Start with the rhythm. There are plenty of drum loops on the internet, many computer and most keyboards today. You can also tap or hit anything that makes a sound. Listening to the drum group will also be exciting. I remember watching a video to "Stomp out loud" that really got me feeling and thinking beats. I played one of my songs do not complete a task to repair brooms and my song came life.

(5) Start with a Bass-Line. What can I say – a great Bass Line-drive a song and get people moving. There are Bass Line-loops around, but just listen to some of the masters such as Stevie Wonder and try to emulate. Taking a Bass-Line occurs usually requires working with a player Bass. You can also take an existing Bass-Line and exchanged a few notes around to see what happens.

I've covered just a few ideas for making songs, so go and try some of them. I have not talked about song structure, things like verses, and bridges simultaneously, but in pure song writing anything goes. There are no right or wrongs, especially when you are writing to express yourself.

G. Schirmer Red Violin Caprices for Solo Violin From The Motion Picture The Red Violin By Corigliano

G. Schirmer Red Violin Caprices for Solo Violin From The Motion Picture The Red Violin By Corigliano

$8.96

The Red Violin Caprices (duration: ca. 10 min.) are derived from John Corigliano’s music for The Red Violin, which received the 1999 Academy Award for Best Original Score. The Caprices were composed especially for Joshua Bell. These Caprices, composed in conjunction with the score for François Girard’s film The Red Violin, take a spacious, troubadour-inspired theme and vary it both linearly and stylistically. These variations intentionally evoke Baroque, Gypsy, and arch-Romantic idioms as they examine the same materials (a dark, seven-chord chaconne as well as that principal theme) from differing aural viewpoints. The Caprices were created and ordered to reflect the structure of the film, in which Bussotti, a fictional 18th-century violin maker, crafts his greatest violin for his soon-to-be-born son. When tragedy claims wife and child, the grief-stricken Bussotti, in a gesture both ardent and macabre, infuses the blood of his beloved into the varnish of the instrument. Their fates thus joined, the violin travels across three centuries through Vienna, London, Shanghai and Montreal, passing through the hands of a doomed child prodigy, a flamboyant virtuoso, a haunted Maoist commissar, and at last a willful Canadian expert, whose own plans for the violin finally complete the circle of parent and child united in art. – John Corigliano8 pagesSize: 12″ x 9″Composer: John CoriglianoISBN: 634001841

ASV’s Musica Mexicana, Vol. 2, is the second issue in ASV’s trend-setting series of Mexican classical music releases, and one of the best of the lot. It pulls together three of the finest orchestral works Mexico has to offer, Manuel Ponce’s Concerto for violin and orchestra, Carlos Ch? vez’s Sinfonia India, and Silvestre Revueltas’ La Noche de Los Mayos, in the standard configuration assembled by Jos? Limantour. There is a hidden treasure here in the performance of Ponce’s seldom-heard Concerto for violin and orchestra in that it is played by the dedicatee of the work, violinist Henryk Szeryng, in his fourth and final recording of it. This must have been one of Szeryng’s last recordings, as he died in 1988, but for some reason ASV is not very forthcoming about the date of the recording, which appears to be from the mid-’80s; perhaps its presence might cast doubt as to whether the recording is truly “DDD” as it says. It makes no difference to one’s ears, however, as Szeryng really earns his paycheck here — he has been playing this concerto for more than 40 years, and he is able to raise it from a mere whisper of sound to a slashing attack of rapid sixteenths without batting an eyelash. It is a superb testament to Szeryng’s artistry, and Enrique B? tiz and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra provide a sensitive, though never slack, backdrop. One wonders why this concerto isn’t performed more often — structurally it is practically a textbook example of what a violin concerto should be, and it combines the trajectory of romantic form with a lean, neo-Classical orchestration and a nod to impressionist harmonies, not to mention the natural Latin flavoring of Ponce. It even contains a couple of wry quotations from other material; a few notes from the opening of “The Donkey Serenade,” a pop radio hit inescapable in about 1940, poke out from the solo part, and even a strand of his own “Estrellita.” Oddly, the only other violinist to record this concerto is Miranda C…
