When Buying a restored Steinway, You Save Money over

To buy a new Steinway or not to buy a new one, to the question. Or is that question? The answer is more honest than many people understand. When considering the possibility of buying a brand new Steinway grand piano directly from the factory, or buy restored or rebuilt Steinway, there really is no comparison. Of course when you buy a new Steinway piano you get the factory warranty and back-up and support the original Steinway factory and the child itself. You also know that if there are any serious flaws or problems at the piano factory that will take care of the problem. If you choose an instrument directly from the floor of the Steinway in New York, or from a certified Steinway Gallery, you are choosing a good instrument. However, the question lies not only quality of service to the Steinway factory, dealers and distributors can supply, but whether or not you can receive the same service and guarantees from Steinway resellers. The answer is both yes and no. Some yes, some do not. In fact, some rebuilders offer warranties on the parts like Soundboard than the Steinway factory and child or Steinway Galleries, so no loss there. And many of these areas have had years of honorable service is comparable to the best of Steinway dealers, so no problems there either. There's a caveat, however. And that one should understand and know the dealer that they will buy the piano from. Unfortunately, in the piano business, like many other industries, there are those who make a living through ignorance of the Mass prayers. There are pianos restored incorrect, inaccurate, and not have the right sound or touch that Steinway pianos are good for the record. So the easiest way to qualify a reseller is that rebuilding Steinway pianos have to learn If the restoration is done by a certified Steinway technician, and then figure out which is going to restore pianos. For example, many of our pianos are restored by the same technician to restore the Steinway Concert D used in the Lincoln Center, New York City. One of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. From here, it is easy to see that one can not go wrong. But even they do not bore, is certain to have a qualified technician review and understand the background the instrument you are considering, as well as warrantees and guarantees either implicit or explicit in the purchase. After all, one Steinway piano is not a small buy for most, and be done with utmost care. Americans Steinway piano model

Now returning to the issue price, is a find there is a big difference in price between buying a brand new Steinway Model B, for example, and return a Steinway Model B from one of the most reputable of dealers. At the time of this writing the new Steinway B lists for approximately U.S. $ 68,000 from the most Galleries, but a restored Steinway B, of equal quality and guarantee, can be as low as $ 45,000 or even less! (See http://american-steinway.com/steinway-b-1917-ebony/ or http://american-steinway.com/steinway-b-1897-ebony/) In the largest of the grand pianos, the Steinway Model D pianos, the difference between rebuilt and new plans is often $ 40,000 or more. The latest Steinway D that we have listed (http://american-steinway.com/steinway-d-1929-ebony) is $ 79,000 as opposed to a new Steinway Model D piano lists for approximately $ 120,000. Each Steinway Model D are listed around this price, and all of them are returned to the original sound, color, beauty and the latest touch off the Steinway piano factory floor. Of course the price difference is not just there for either Model B Steinway pianos. Each grand piano model, is a significant savings. But the savings do not just stop there. Many older pianos have a tone and feel that is more even and perfected at the time. It may seem strange to some, but that is because they think of buying a piano like buying a car. piano is not like a car, it depreciates with age, but Instead, it appreciates and can improve with age, and like a violin or other string instrument, the wood will be deeper in tone and depth over time, and create a truly enjoyable sound that is timeless. One last note on price. Steinway and sons will tell you with pianos will appreciate over time. This is true. But appreciation is happening not only plan of "primitive" value of the instrument. It is also because the instruments made by Steinway is becoming more expensive each passing year. This alone creates a wonderful opportunity for both buying and selling a piano rebuilt to enjoy the benefits of not buying before. So in the end, the solution is simple – there really is no question of the "New" or "new". Be certain to consider reputable sources, such as www.pianomart.com, www.american-steinway.com, and other prominent dealers to eliminate the chances of being caught in a broken string. Your rebuilt again piano is waiting for you. Do not let the idea of "new" fool you into taking more piano for more – get an older Steinway piano for less!

This is the story of how the Steinway piano came to be the instrument of choice for the world’s greatest pianists. In 1953, Theodore Steinway wrote this narrative in longhand on yellow legal pads as a tribute to his father and to commemorate the first 100 years of Steinway & Sons. The book was a memento for employees and was never released to the public. This revised edition brings the history of this remarkable company to the present day through recollections of Henry E. Steinway, the last family member to remain involved with the company, and Peter Goodrich, vice president of concert and artist relations, who has been with the company for 30 years. In 1850, Henry Engelhard Steinway left Germany for New York City and established what was to become the standard of excellence in the piano world. Using photographs and anecdotes, this book chronicles the business from its beginnings through the Depression, when many piano manufacturers went out of business, through World War II, when the c
