One of the most exciting design concepts Apple has recently introduced the unibody. This is the enclosure for the MacBook Air, the 15 inch MacBook Pro, and the new MacBook.

unibody Life begins as a piece of aluminum. Using CNC (computer as control) milling machine, then Apple creates a casing that accommodates a laptop keyboard, trackpad, ports, display, and the massive interior electronics.

The results are robust and lightweight. The new MacBook aluminum and weighs just 2.04 kg (4.5 pounds). It is modest for a Laptop packed with many features. It is still the weight, though, than the 1.36 kg wonderfully thin MacBook Air's (£ 3). The two laptops, including the MacBook Pro, catch the eye Their engineering perfection and elegance.

The unibody is a simple concept but a very difficult idea to achieve in practice. This is why laptop manufacturers usually make their casings from separate parts. They allow room for error. The unibody, however, should be accurate in every respect, if not, the internal parts do not fit.

The bold approach to design is typical of Apple. Another example is the iMac, Apple's desktop computers holds its technology behind the 20 inch and 24 inch widescreen displays. The iMac's enclosure is a single sheet of aluminum, in addition to a room below that offers access to memory. The ports, iSight camera, microphone, optical drive slot, and the parts inside are all built discretely. Together they provide a powerful computer that takes up far less space than any comparable PC.

The Mac mini is not as slim as Apple Laptops and the iMac, but it does not need to be thin to be fashionable. Rather, it is a good example of how a good computer can reduce scattered by being just 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) square and 5 cm (2 inches) high. The anodised aluminum enclosure, pearly white cover, curved corners, and quiet running the Mac mini is a desirable thing to have sitting at a desk. It certainly compares well to the bulk of a standard desktop PC.

Apple's iPods have a similar design philosophy. Aluminum, glass, and highly polished stainless steel side features subtle curves and carefully positioned controls. The Click Design Wheel the classic and nano will even be a style icon in its own right, deriving from the Scroll Wheel and Touch Wheel of the earlier generation iPods.

This compatibility means that users of a product Apple has an enjoyable and hassle-free experience. The design of Mac OS X, for example, provides a quick and logical operating system that outshines Windows Vista in almost every respect.

Ease of use extends to the software that comes with every Mac such as the Safari web browser. Safari will not only find information fast Internet – it keeps up with the latest web technologies, organizing your data, and helps you identify an item from another.

Safari's success as the world's best web browser, and the popularity of other Apple software such as the iLife Suite of applications, is partly due to frequent repairs. Apple's software design specialists can not wait for things to happen: they are always looking ways to develop and improve. Mac users can therefore be confident that their software is up to date.

The same is true of the iPod designers. Recent design improvements include Genius, which automatically creates playlists of songs that match, the accelerometer, which makes the game more fun to play and provides ipod in its shake shuffle feature, and 3D graphics ipod touch.

The ipod touch, of course, has an outstanding Multi-touch screen is a major design feature by itself. Apple also uses Multi-touch concept in its laptops, and now given the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and larger trackpads made of glass and more features than ever before. The result was not only makes laptops more fun to use – they also look sleeker.

Concern for environment

The third component of Apple's approach to design is concern for the environment. LED backlighting for the display does not contain mercury, PVC interior without cables, and components are free of toxic BFRs (brominated flame retardants).

Apple also promotes features recyclable aluminum and arsenic-free glass that make up many of the Mac and iPod casings, and cut back on packaging it uses.

Such efforts are many, and developing all the time. Among the acknowledgments are the granting of Energy Star status for Macs, thanks to their excellent energy efficiency, and much-coveted EPEAT (electronic product environmental assessment tool) gold ratings for MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

These successes prove that environmental concerns can play a fundamental role in the concept design. No doubt other companies will follow Apple's lead.

Change

Innovation is not featured here as a design concept because it is a separate principle. By Apple, innovation is fundamental to the existence of the company and strategy. The Some manufacturers see innovation as an end in itself, but Apple treats it as an important part of the daily design and development.

Customers may thus take innovation for granted. Underwrites this product great to look at, constant use, and respect the environment. In other words, these brilliant design.
