A friend once asked me if I knew a one-armed drummer. Of course, I said no. Why get the services of a one-handed drummer when regular drummers is much? Imagine my surprise when my friend told me that the drummer of Def Leppard is really a one-hand dude.
So, I went online and checked out different pictures of the band. I went and Googled Rick Allen, and then I saw it, he really is a one-hand dude. There are even picture him holding the British flag proudly on his one remaining arm. I'm not against anything differently abled people. It's just that so I was taken aback to discover the I do not know about a band that I'm listening to for years.
Rick Allen is the man behind the drums of Def Leppard. He also called the Thunder God through of fans. He was born on November 1, 1963 in Dronfield, Derbyshire, Great Britain. He joined the legendary band when he was 15 years old. He was not even keen on responding Def Leppard's the ad looking for a new drummer. Good thing his father had responded to the ad and volunteered services of his son's.
I also found out that he lost his left arm in a car accident. He has been part of Def Leppard when the accident happened. The doctor had to cut her left arm because it was damaged from the accident. His Seatbelts are not properly buckled, so he was thrown off the vehicle when it turned and tumbled. At first she thought she would kicked out of the band. I thought he thought that the band does not want to have a one-armed drummer, but he thought wrong. Def Leppard still wanted him to supply the beat in music The band's. He had a drum set created just for him where he can use his legs as a substitute for his missing left arm. Now, listening to his drumming, even if you do not know you were listening to the pounding of a one-armed drummer.
Right now, Rick Allen is a member charity organization Raven Drum Foundation. This foundation is based in California. It aims to encourage people differently abled to overcome hardships brought about by of the situation, much like he did.
