Do You Find Yourself A Newbie At Playing Violin – Become An Expert
“How to play the violin?”, is that a question that you keep on asking yourself? Well, there are also others that do. The number of people who want to become violin experts are currently growing. You can become an expert if you have the passion. If you want to play well, it doesn’t happen overnight. It requires practice and dedication.
The sound of the violin can be a tool to touch people’s lives. Even the coldest heart can melt when it hears the music. The violin has become a part of classic and modern music. Most songs and compositions incorporate a violin. Appreciation of the sound is one way to develop an interest in learning how to play a specific instrument of choice.
Now, how to play the violin? Here are simple tips that will help you gear yourself from being just a rookie to soon becoming the expert.
First Step: Hold the violin in such a way that it rests in the collarbone. It should be parallel to the ground, supported by your shoulder and left hand.
Second Step: Rest your chin in the violin’s body. You are still a beginner so it may be hard for you to hold the violin for along time, so it i best that you make use of a shoulder rest.
Third Step: The next step is to position your fingers. The neck of your violin must not rest in your palm; unlike the guitar that it is possible.
Fourth Step: Position your thumb and fingers and hold the bow of the violin. Place the point finger on the pad and the pinkie finger must hold the metal tip.
Fifth Step: Keep it steady in your hand; it does not require to be only in your left hand when holding it. From there, the hard part begins and that is to practice moving your fingers through each key or note. You have to keep your hand stable. The need to practice agility and stability is a must before you are able to move forward.
Sixth Step: You may frett the right string slightly to avoid straining your fingers.
Seventh Step: As a beginner, you must practice simple songs first. And learn from there. Know your weak links and invest your time on it. Other people may make it look like it’s easy to play the violin, but once you’ve started, you’ll know really just how hard it is.
Nobody said learning how to play the violin is just child’s play. You’d have to be a child prodigy if that were so. Nonetheless, your will to learn can push the limitations you’ve probably set on yourself. These steps will guide you in playing the violin; of course you must have the passion in order for you to become an expert.

Sixth Step: You may wish to protect your hands and fingers from strain by fretting the right string with a light movement.
Seventh Step: Choose an easy song when learning how to play the violin. And learn from there. Practice more in maneuvers that are most challenging for you. Other people may make it look like it’s easy to play the violin, but once you’ve started, you’ll know really just how hard it is.

violin trio music

Yes, composers of such calibre as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak, Hindemith, Mendelssohn loved the viola and played it. Also several famous violin players including the most famous violin player, Nicolo Paganini, played the viola and still today several famous violin players show their appreciation for the viola by playing it.
It’s just that, until the 20th century, it wasn’t fashionable to be a full time viola soloist, and we also have to say that playing the viola is more physically exacting than the little brother violin. The violin could more easily enable the performer to show off his fireworks, so why bother? Many virtuosos recognized her beauty, though, and played it occasionally and even wrote works for it.
There were two notable exceptions, between mid 18th century and mid 19th century, two composers who in their time were known as viola virtuosos: the Bohemian Carl Stamitz, one of the first travelling virtuoso performers, and the Italian Alessandro Rolla, also conductor at La Scala opera house in Milan for over thirty years.
Bach loved to play viola in groups, to be in the middle of harmony. Beethoven played viola for about three years in the two orchestras in Bonn. Mozart played viola in his Kegelstatt Trio with his piano pupil and his clarinet player and friend Anton Stadler. Dvorak was a professional viola player in Prague for about fourteen years in the Opera house orchestra and others.
Hindemith was a concert viola player and composed many viola works. Paganini was the origin of Berlioz’s Harold in Italy, for viola and orchestra and Paganini himself wrote a virtuoso viola composition that he premiered in London. There is much more music for viola than most people think, and this beautiful mellow toned instrument will be a discovery for you!

3 Fervent Travelers $12.99 Time for Three — fiddlers Zach DePue and Nick Kendall and standup bassman Ranaan Meyer — bill themselves as a genre-stretching, boundary-demolishing trio with a sound all their own. They do have impressive chops and Meyer, the main composer, has skills that draw on a wide range of music, but they’re not the only band in the land that’s blending classical, bluegrass, Gypsy jazz, and swing in its music. Groups like Leftover Salmon and the Hot Club of Cowtown explore similar territory, maybe without the classical European touches. That said, there’s still plenty of remarkable playing on 3 Fervent Travelers. “Wyoming 307″ opens the disc in a dark, droning, classical mode, then slowly evolves into a bluegrass barnburner with DePue and Kendall trading off sizzling lead lines and seguing directly into “Forget About It,” which continues the bluegrass-style mayhem with the fiddlers slipping up into their ear-tweaking higher registers, each playing a different variation on the melody while Meyer adds rhythmic accents on his bass. “Don Don” opens with a musical quote from “Jailhouse Rock,” then Kendall and DePue play an extended jazzy, Grappelli-meets-Bob Wills interlude, dropping out to give Meyer time for a brief solo before their Bill Monroe-meets-Monk finale. The violin accents on “Philly Phunk” live up to the tune’s title, while the solos range throughout the blues, jazz, country, and new music spectrum with unpredictable shifts in time, tempo, and timbre. They close the album with a classically influenced arrangement of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” that accents the tune’s solemn tone, despite the rippling violin triplets that accent the second chorus. They close with a jazzy version of “Orange Blossom Special” that features Meyer’s impressive bass work setting up the dueling fiddles of DePue and Kendall, playing at lightning speed and dropping Arab and Gypsy jazz accents into the mix. ~ j. poet, Rovi |

Hot Tuna concert at Winterland on 31 Dec 70 $9.98 This set by Hot Tuna, which they played as openers for the Grateful Dead on New Years Eve, before a hometown crowd, features the band right between the release of first and second albums. The original trio of Kaukonen, Casady and Scarlet is still intact, but the sound’s the thing that’s changed – in contrast to their first album, this is full-on electric Hot Tuna! Sammy Piazza, arguably the most tasteful drummer to play with the group, was now a full-time member. However, this show took place prior to the addition of Papa John Creach on violin, and therefore provides a fascinating – and extremely rare – glimpse of the band in the midst of a definitive transition. The electrified treatment given to the first and second albums’ acoustic-oriented material works wonderfully, and allows both Kaukonen and Casady room for more creative expression (and volume!) on their instruments. “That’ll Never Happen No More,” “Candy Man,” “Uncle Sam Blues” and especially Kaukonen’s “New Song (For The Morning)” are even more infectious than their acoustic counterparts. They also perform Jorma’s autobiographic “Third Week In The Chelsea,” in which he bared his feelings toward Jefferson Airplane for all to hear. Will Scarlet takes a rare shot at lead vocals on the traditional “I’ve Been All Around This World” (a song Jerry Garcia also arranged for the Dead’s acoustic sets that year). This rarity may be unfamiliar to many, as it remained in their repertoire for only a brief time. Scarlet’s tasteful harp playing adds flavor and nuance to everything on this set. All that aside, it is the straight blues numbers that are most fascinating here. Kaukonen’s passion for Reverend Gary Davis and numbers that feature intricate blues fingerpicking are translated beautifully to his Stratocaster; and with Jack’s energetic, dynamic bass playing and Will Scarlet’s displaying boundless creativity on the harmonica, Jorma has plenty of motivation and really gets cooking. Prime examples are “Keep Your Lamps |
